How Eve’s love of art began
Eve’s love of art and craft began at very young age and she used to paint every day as a kid. She also used to create little figurines that she would give to her parents for Christmas.
Eve originally wanted to be a fashion stylist and attended a high school for fashion design, but she lost interest in it and went back to her initial passion of painting and modeling with clay.
How Eve is inspired by music and her emotions
Eve draws inspiration both from her experiences and emotions in everyday life and also from music. When she listens to music she finds that images start taking shape in her mind. She then finds she needs to put those images down on paper. One of the bands from which she has taken inspiration for two of her paintings is The Ministry. Her two paintings have the same titles as the musical tracks Land Of Rape and Honey and Scarecrow.
Eve has two very different painting styles, one is quite colourful art and then the other is black and white or monochrome ink paintings. These reflect different aspects of her personality and how she feels at the time.
One of her paintings called Critters was also inspired by another artist Too Much Caffeine Critters who creates dolls. The painting is Eve’s interpretation of the dolls in her own style. The two artists then swapped their creations.
Why Eve doesn’t keep notebooks of ideas
Eve likes to create in the moment when inspiration strikes. She did once try keeping a list of ideas she wanted to work on, but found she never looked at it. Sometimes if she is working on a figurine she might put that aside if inspiration from her emotions makes her feel the need to create a painting or sketch out an idea.
Eve likes to connect with her Etsy customers
Eve has an Etsy store with amazing reviews from her customers. She likes to keep the customer informed at all stage of the process. This means she can check that they like what she’s creating and also makes them feel part of the process. She also likes to learn more about the customer and create a connection so she knows where her art is going and why they chose it.
Eve’s favourite tools
Eve mainly uses her hand for creating her polymer figurines. For painting she loves bamboo paper.
